Take the Test: Could You Have an Underlying Mental Disorder?

Adolescence is a unique and formative time, and it is important for teenagers to be at their best- both physically and mentally. Physical, emotional and social changes, including exposure to poverty, abuse, or violence, as well as social pressures from school or their personal lives can make adolescents vulnerable to a plethora of mental health problems. Protecting teenagers from adversity, promoting socio-emotional learning and psychological well-being, and ensuring access to mental health care are critical for their health and well-being during adolescence and into adulthood.

Globally, it is estimated that 1 in 7 (14%) adolescents experience mental health conditions, yet a vast majority of these remain unrecognized and untreated. Adolescents with underlying mental health conditions are particularly vulnerable to social exclusion, discrimination, stigma (affecting willingness to seek help), educational difficulties, risky behaviors and suicide.

If you are unsure whether or not you have a common mental disorder, feel free to take the test below. However, do not rely solely on the results of this test. If you think you may have a mental health disorder, however mild or severe it may be, it is best to consult a professional instead of self-diagnosing or using online resources.
